At the Pfleger Institute of Environmental Research (PIER) we currently have three ongoing research projects that focus on Southern California Elasmobranch species.

1. National Science Foundation supported research on the design of the locomotor musculature of the three species of thresher shark (Alopiidae). This is a collaborative research project between:
